We correct errors of fact promptly and transparently.
How to report an error
Write to the corrections address on our contact page with the article link and what you believe is wrong. We aim to respond within 24 hours.
How we correct
- Factual errors are fixed in the article, and a dated Correction note at the top explains what changed.
- Minor fixes (spelling, formatting) are made without a note.
- Significant updates as a story develops are shown with an Updated date.
- Legal or safety concerns (for example a request to remove a private person's details) are reviewed by an editor within 24 hours and, where appropriate, the item is changed or taken down.
Article addresses do not change when an article is corrected or updated.
